now-The average of 1kg of oranges is around 20TL

then - In December 2020 the price of 1kg oranges was up to 10TL

- RICE

now-The average price of 1 kg of rice in Turkey is 28TL

then - 2014 the price of 1kg of rice was around 5TL

- TOMATOES

now-The average price of 1kg of the regular tomato in Turkey is around 16TL

then - 2016 - Price of 1kg of regular tomatoes only 4TL

- EGGS

now -2022 -price to package of 30 eggs, between 59 – 70 TL

then - 2019 - Price to package of 30 eggs, ~9 TL

Our Vision

We deal in facts, not in blame. Criticism is limited to discussions about which economic tool is preferable, not to who might have done what, better.

If we believe that someone has brought up a bright idea, we will publish it. If we believe that such an idea is not well based, we will ask for the group’s opinion. As long as the input is constructive, we will try to help, especially if it is applicable for Turkey.

About Us

The group started during COVID-19 lock downs, when Hassan created a study group on Zoom and invited tens of students and post graduates to openly discuss economic phenomenon that are about to trouble the world. One of the discussion groups focused on Turkey. For some reason most of the attendance was, and still is, Turkish students all over the world. Three of us stayed friends but we keep the core of about fifty still active and from time-to-time update on our thoughts.
